Omega 3 for healthy nails

If your nails are brittle or flaking, try getting more essential fatty acids. These are found in foods such as fatty fish and flaxseed or flaxseed oil.

If you don't eat much fish take an essential fatty acid or omega 3 supplement each day.

Brittle or flaky nails are often associated with an underlying condition, such as psoriasis, which will need separate treatment.

If your nails have white spots, you may be deficient in zinc. Nuts, root vegetables, whole grains, meat and shellfish are all good sources of this mineral. Alternatively zinc can be taking as a supplement.
